  1. Password cannot contain either name or part of the email address
    and must be a minimum of eight characters
    with at least one from 3 of these 4 sets:
    capital letters,
    small letters,
    digits 0-9 or
    special characters on a standard keyboard.

    The Erie County Clerk's Office provides the Property Alert Service free of charge to the public.  The Property Alert Service is designed to alert subscribers via email notifications when documents are filed with the County Clerk that could affect a property for which the subscriber has registered to receive alerts.  The service works by matching data in legal descriptions on recorded documents with requests made Property Alert Service subscribers.

    THE PROPERTY ALERT SERVICE DOES NOT PREVENT FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY, BUT IT CAN ASSIST IN TIMELY DETECTION OF FRAUD.  THE PROPERTY ALERT SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO HELP KEEP SUBSCRIBERS AWARE OF ACTIONS AND DOCUMENTS FILED WITH THE COUNTY CLERK THAT COULD AFFECT THEIR PROPERTY.  IF A SUBSCRIBER BECOMES AWARE OF A SUSPICIOUS FILING AND BELIEVES FRAUD MAY HAVE OCCURRED, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SUBSCRIBER TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER FURTHER AND IF WARRANTED CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT TO REQUEST A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.

    Erie County Clerk's office works to ensure the accurate recording of all official documents, including legal descriptions, and will record documents that meet recording requirements.  The County Clerk's Office makes no warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy of these records. The Clerk's Office will assist subscribers in using the alert service, but subscribers are responsible for providing and maintaining valid email addresses to which alert email notification can be sent as well as for registering correct S-B-L and/or Party Name information for the properties thy register to receive alerts for.

    The Erie County Clerk's Office shall not be liable for errors in recording documents, for errors contained in email alert notifications or in sending email alert notifications to subscribers, or for any damages in connection with the use of any information provided through the Property Alert Service.
